Tues. is Canada Day, then your 4th , Don does the Patriot thing, this sorta fits 1967, the last few frames of a Superman comic they "created" HYPERMAN flying over the canadian pavillion EXPO'67 DC's gift to Canada [all from memory, my Mother threw out my comics too]

No, The Patriot (one of Marvel's in-house imitations of Captain America) is being put off for some other year. Geez, there were a lot of flag-wearing superheroes back then. Yankee Girl, Yankee Doodle Jones … Makes a guy want to do Captain Confederacy just to put a little contrast in his life. (Anybody happen to know when Confederate Memorial Day is?)
(Besides, I think the "patriotic" label is properly applied according to deeper qualities than what someone wears. I wrote a blog entry about that, where I suggested Barak Obama dress like Captain Flag to shut up critics who don't like his lack of a lapel pin. Some people just need to get a life.)
I'm not familiar with Hyperman. I've already written up Captain Canuck and Nelvana. Maybe I'll make a list and gather info, then pull it out each year.

That may make it less likely (in the extreme!) I'll run across the character, but it's not an absolute barrier to writing him up. I've done local-interest, event-specific things before (an example); and tho this is insignificant even by those standards, I don't quite know where to draw the line.
(Bottom line: If I someday happen to feel like writing Hyperman up, I'll just do it and that'll be that.)
Meanwhile, as I prepare to post Miss America on Friday, Captain Confederacy is looking more likely.
